The SLU Lions advanced to the Southland Conference tournament championship with an 89-79 win over Sam Houston State.
The Lions were led by Helen Cox alum Marlain Veal’s 29 points. The West Bank native was a solid 14-of-14 from the free throw line.
The last time Southeastern went "dancing" came way back in 2005. The Lions were also the regular season champion in the Southland.
